BU Linux is based on CentOS, the open source version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. With the release of RHEL 5.2 this spring, and CentOS 5.2 this summer,  we experienced a deluge of updated and new RPMs (over 300 of them, 40 of which we regularly modify). While the sun was hot and the air muggy, the team rebuilt and tested all of them, including the brand-new Firefox 3.  In this year's release, you 'll see drivers for new hardware and many bugfixes.  We also consoilidated many of the updates so the installation is faster.

The CD for BU Linux (32 or 64 bit) can be purchased in the Front Office of the Office of Information Technology, located at 111 Cummington Street, for $5.  Or you may download for free.
