BU Linux is installed via the campus network; we currently do not provide an entirely CD-ROM-based installation process. However, you will need to have a boot CD containing the initial install program. You can make an install CD yourself by downloading the image and using your CD-writing software's "burn from ISO image" or "create from disc image" feature. Don't just put the file on the disc. First, choose whether you need the server edition (Zodiac, a.k.a BU Linux 4.5s, based on CentOS 4) or the desktop/server edition (Monde, a.k.a. BU Linux 5.0, based on CentOS 5). Then decide whether you'll need the 64-bit or the 32-bit version. Monde 64-bit systems or Monde 32-bit systems (server/desktop version based on CentOS 5) Zodiac 64-bit systems or Zodiac 32-bit systems (server version based on CentOS 4) Installation is simple: just boot your system from the install CD and follow the on-screen instructions.
