BU Linux is installed via the campus network; we currently do not provide an entirely CD-ROM-based installation process. However, you will need to have a boot CD containing the initial install program. You can either come to the Office of Information Technology (at 111 Cummington St.) and we can give you a CD for $5, or you can make one yourself. Download the current boot CD image for 64-bit systems or for 32-bit systems and burn it to a CD-R. Make sure to use your CD-writing software's "burn from ISO image" or "create from disc image" feature — don't just put the file on the disc. Installation is simple: just boot your system from the install CD and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need more help, check out our step-by-step installation guides. | ||||||||||||
